The Canias-ERP Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) module, with its integrated structure to the entire system, guarantees a healthy management of electronic data exchange that crosses system and company boundaries.

Through standard or freely definable protocols such as EDIFACT, VDA, ODETTE, ANSI ASC X12…, all data in the system can be transferred to the external environment in full, or the data obtained from the external environment can be transferred to the Canias-ERP system completely and seamlessly, thanks to this module. It is also possible to trigger the desired Canias-ERP process before or after the import or export of the data.

The graphic below shows the integration of the module with the overall system.

INTEGRATED PROCESS WORKFLOW

In the Electronic Data Exchange module, electronic data exchange is initiated and executed together with the definition of business processes or events. For example, the automatic and electronic transmission of purchase orders to the suppliers when they are recorded, or the electronic creation of a delivery note together with the relevant delivery document and its transmission to the customer, are provided through this module. In addition, thanks to the module, production orders can be created without the need for a manual intervention; In case of falling below the minimum warehouse quantity, it is also possible to automatically create a purchase order and transfer it to the suppliers. In addition, information generated within the framework of the execution of commercial transactions between affiliated companies (intercompany) can also be transferred via this module.

FREE PROTOCOL DEFINITION

In addition to standard protocols, free protocol definitions can be made in the module for the solution of business-specific situations. Here, the target format can be defined as .xml based, CSV format, excel file or any other format. It is possible to transfer data in different formats both into and out of the system. Desired storage locations can be scanned at defined intervals to find and import newly included protocol files. Due to the fully integrated nature of the module, the next steps are not limited to the actual use of the protocol. If it is necessary to provide relevant documents (eg invoice list for collective invoices) for communication supported by electronic data exchange, these can be freely determined and included in the process flow. Possible next steps are storing in the file system, It can be stored in the Document Management module or automatic mail or fax sending. also Canias-All save operations within the ERP can initiate the export process in the Electronic Data Exchange module. Thus, an order confirmation can be obtained automatically through this module during the registration of an order.

CREATIVE USES

Through the Electronic Data Exchange module, data can be imported and exported for systems used in parallel. For example, a CAD software system can be communicated for material and bill of materials changes received and processed through the module. Thus, the changing properties and data of a material in the design phase, Canias-ERP With the update of the data records in it, it can be adapted automatically and, if necessary, new control plans, drawing versions or change indices can be determined. Thanks to adaptability of protocols and flexible matching (connection of data structures in the protocol and in the system), data structure problems that may arise from changes in software versions used by data exchange parties are quickly revised.

COMPLETE PROCESS CONTROL

All data transfers on the module are displayed on the screens foreseen for them and a log is created. Thus, an uninterrupted monitoring can be realized. In this way, a logging mechanism can be created for all data transfers, transactions and errors that may occur, whether imported or exported. The Electronic Data Exchange module is a high-performance and reliable utility with its features such as making evaluation, resending/receiving faulty data and creating a logging mechanism for these errors. By combining with other modules within the system, an ERP system is created that perfectly fits the company’s requirements.

INTEGRATION

It is possible to interact with all modules in the system by making use of the module’s flexible data transfer and process triggering capability. Thanks to the protocols prepared in accordance with creative usage purposes, two-way data transfer can be achieved and processes can be triggered by interacting with the Sales Management, Purchasing Management, Invoice Control, Production Management, Inventory Management, Human Resources Management, Customer Relationship Management modules and many more.
